Patriotic Americans – I think that would make a great name for the new party we all should build. Because the current one could care less what we have to say. The Republican Party is a joke and they can’t seem to keep their pants on. We always knew the Democrats were that way and that’s why we always voted against them. Now both parties have shamed us and used us to feather their bankrolls with our blood and sweat. I feel the time as come to return to the ideals that we all can believe it and to force the parties out into the cold. They are not written in stone and they are not impossible to defeat at the polling booth. Let’s throw our support behind the Tea Parties that have formed and demonstrated against Obama’s Socialism. Let’s work within them to form a new party that represents all of us all the time. As those of us who have served our country gave an oath to”protect and defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help me God!”

Your nation is crying out for you, are you blind that you can not see, are you deaf that you can not hear, your nation is calling you, decide!

Here are just a few very good reasons to hate Obamacare:

FOr starters, I LOVE how the Web master of this site has made users able to delete other people’s comments. Therefore, you are blocking what other peoples opinions are….and in a sense, CENSORING FREE SPEECH…..which is one thing you people are “supposed” to be standing for.

I’m sorry, and I will try and keep this civil, you are twisting words around in a poor attempt to back up your arguments. I’ve read the bill….and haven’t seen any of these issues. I’ll admit, some things are a concern….but you’re going way over the top, spreading lies, and trying to start controversy.

I am a 36 yr old Christian college student at RCTC, and I come from a well-to-do family. But what just baffles my mind is that you Tea Partiers are doing everything you can to prevent the poor from getting the proper health care that they need…all this while claiming to be Christians. Is that what Jesus would do? I think not. Not everyone is a freeloader….some people have no choice, and that’s the truth.

I understand the concerns about higher taxes….that’s admirable. But think about the people who truly need the help…..

I for one, no matter how much wealth I may obtain, will never forget those who are less fotunate than I. It’s just not what Jesus has put in my heart to do….and is NOT at all what Jesus taught in the Gospels.

Good luck with your protests…I’ll be praying for you.

    Hey y’all,
Great to see folks getting involved. You are not alone. We’re working hard up here in the Twin Cities as well. Some of our representatives have been ducking us, like Senator Frankin’s closed “Town Halls” or Representative Ellison’s choice to go to a DFL Canvasing Kick Off (in support of the Govenment Take-over of our Health Care) rather than meet with his constituents. But hey, Ellison’s term is up in ’10 and he’s gone! Please don’t be strangers. Let’s work together where we can, networking will be essential for our success. http://teapartytc.org http://teapartymn.com

Andrew, I couldnt agree more, we need to all work together and build a strong Minnesota Unit. Hoping this fall we can have some kind of summit in the Twin Cities where we can all get together and meet face to face and share ideas and goals.

Just wondering about 9-12. Anything in the works? I do go out to the Baltimore/ DC area now and then and would love to attend the big one. But I heard of many local events around the country. Would rather be with fellow Minnesotans. If there is anything planned would like to know early as possible to take the day off.

A truly Patriotic person supports Universal Health Care. It is not socialist. It is the best use of one’s own money and tax dollars. Under our current system, health care decisions are made by health ‘insurance’ companies, not made by the health care professional and the patient (which is what happens with Universal Health Care). With Universal Health Care, people do not go bankrupt; health care providers do not have to write off large amounts because health ‘insurance’ companies refuse to pay.
Many people in this Country remember when we helped each other build a barn when one was needed. Helped bring in crops when someone needed help. That was not socialism. Just as Universal Health Care is not socialism. It is the best use of our money. And ALL data indicates that the USA ranks behind countries with ‘Universal/Single Payer’ systems in regards to infant mortality and life expectancy.
It is not uncommon for ‘health insurance’ company CEO’s make over $14,000 per hour. These same companies deny women treatment for breast cancer because of something the ‘health insurance’ company has deemed as a pre-existing condition, and deny a patient with Lou Gehrig’s disease food (many ‘health insurance policies do not pay for the ‘food’ when someone w/ Lou Gehrig’s Disease must use a feeding tube). The proposals before Congress would not allow this to happen.
Please become a true Patriot and support health care for all.

    • rochesterteapartypatriots said

Deb, the big difference here is that when we all raised a barn it was because we looked out for each other. We didnt sit around waiting for the government to take care of us. If tomorow the grocery store gave away free steaks, how many people would buy hamburger? My health care decisions are made between my doctor and myself. If I have a diagreement with my insurance Company on what they will cover I can take it to court. It is clearly stated in HR3200 that you can not appeal the governments decisions. Perhaps if the Government would give us tax credits for helping our neighbors instead of punishing us for it we could help each other and not need the government telling us we have to.
My concern is all the businesses that will have to close when they are told they must cover 73 percent of individuals health care and over 60 percent of their families. If they dont insure them than the business has to pay 8percent of their wages. Many businesses only make an 8 pecent profit. Where do you expect them to get the money to pay for health care. Since when is that a responsibility of an employer.

    • Laura Zaborowski said

Deb, You are correct on one point: individuals helping individuals is the right path our country needs to be on — this is not the same thing as big government taking from one to provide for the welfare of individuals. The fact that our nation has moved away from individuals helping individuals to a sense of entitlement and paternal care by the government is a disgrace. This has had a very negative impact on our nation’s character.

Certainly there is a role government can play in health care reform, but becoming the single-provider is not the answer. We should be focused on true reform, not creating another giant government bureaucracy.

    • Kent Klinger said

Health Care Reform is neccessary. But not with the Public Option. The government has proven time and again that they couldn’t run a Cool-Aid stand. Fanny, Freddie,Social Security,Medicare, Medicaid. And you want us all to give up our present health care so the government can run it into bankruptcy too? C’mon Deb. Your retorick is really flawed. As far as being able to keep our present health care is a lie when the Government has the ability to coerce private insurance companies by raising standards to the Government level. What insurance company could ever keep up with that when the Government and it’s deep pockets courtesy of the tax payer. Same thing happened to the Automobile Industry and Housing Finance. The Government imposed standards and restrictions until both institutions went broke. You say it’s not patriotic to oppose the Government when all the statistics point that the plan has been proven in Canada and England to be failures. Or even here in the US. Oregon, Hawaii Massachusettes and other states with this same public program going bankrupt and inaffective when it comes to actually treating patients? If standing againsst the Government is unpatriotic when it comes to what people believe is bad policy. Then we would still be under the flag of Great Britain.

    • dilapidatedego said

Thank you Deb for posting some rational thought…

The problem here “Rochester Tea Party Patriots” is profiting off the sick; Its a disgusting practice for a society to endorse. Don’t you see this? Is that really “American”?

RE:KENT “…when all the statistics point that the plan has been proven in Canada and England to be failures.”

See its this kind of ill logic that’s preventing any real progress from happening. These countries haven’t “failed”… Statistics actually show they function far BETTER then the United States; however you spin the data.

I’m for a single payer, public option ONLY. We should have NO “For Profit” healthcare industry at all…

RE: “If I have a disagreement with my insurance Company on what they will cover I can take it to court.”

Yeah… and the poor who can’t afford healthcare as is, can really afford to do that… It’s nice you have healthcare and a lawyer, but I’m sorry, many people do not. Is this a justifiable reason to deny them the services they need? Unbelievable…

Support a Government reform, and a Single Payer-Public Option!!!

    • Kent Becker said

Deb- (your point, why I disagree, a better solution)
      1. “Supporting health care is patriotic.”-Patriotism is defined as being inspired by love for one’s country. I hope we can agree that our country is great because of the unparalleled freedom we have. Freedom for you to choose for yourself, and freedom for me to chose for myself.
      2. “Supporting health care is not socialism.” -Socialism is defined as an economic or political theory supporting government/state control of an industry. Need I say more?
      3. “It is the best use of one’s own money” then later “it is the best use of our money”- You had it right the first time Deb, my money is my money and your money is your money, but my guess is your true colors came out the second time with “our money.” I would also assume that since it is such a good use of your money you will voluntarily be paying in more taxes than required. That’s great, just let me know how much more you pay in and I’ll subtract it from what I am forced to pay. A better solution is for each of us to decide what insurance is best for us and our families.
      4. “Insurance companies decide what your care will be as opposed to the doctor and the patient”- Medicare (essentially “universal health care”) declines a higher percentage of claims than private insurance. The new bill proposes reimbursing doctors a set amount for each individual they care for. Regardless of what services you need the doctor will be reimbursed by the government the same amount. The issue is that the doctor will realize that the fewer services he provides to you the more profit he makes. Does that sound like it is in your best interest Deb? A better solution is that you purchase the insurance plan you want, if you need a service that isn’t covered under the plan you purchased, you need to pay for it from your savings.
      5. “People do not go bankrupt under universal health care”- Actually many more will go bankrupt with universal health care. Insurance companies will go bankrupt. They employ millions of people. Hospitals and clinics will go bankrupt…(the government will reimburse pennies compared to what insurance companies reimburse. More unemployed nurses and doctors. Lastly, our country will go bankrupt. What about those people Deb?
      6. “remember when we helped each other”- that generousity was voluntary not forced. Most American’s are very generous. If the government would stop taking our money via taxes we’d have more to be generous with.
      7. “all data suggests the US lags behind others”- I’m curious why you choose to live in the US since you will die so young?
      8. “insurance executives make too much money”- might I suggest you become an insurance executive and find out what they really make. The private sector worker gets paid what others are willing to pay them. Politicians get paid base on what they forcefully take from the masses. Who do you trust more?
      9. Deb- please consider being patriotic and supporting freedom. Freedom for each of us to choose what is best for ourselves and our families. Health care costs are out of control, but please listen to someone close to the industry; the government is why costs are out of control. They have imposed excessive regulations on insurance companies and doctors that increase costs. Medicare reimbursement rates force doctors to offset that lost revenue elsewhere. To control costs we need to first eliminate medicare and medicaid. These programs are bankrupt and inefficient. Allow private insurance companies to develop insurance plans that will cover you and your familly for a lifetime. This will solve the pre-existing condition issue. Remove the regulations that prevent insurance companies from competing against one another. If the government was truly interested in increasing competition they would obviously do this, but they don’t.(I wonder why?) Cap mal practice law suits. This will greatly reduce the overhead of the doctors and allow for lower prices. Keep in mind that if we remove the profit motive from health care, the quality of care, the research, and the innovation in the medical field will cease. My wish is the same as yours…I wish that everyone who needs a doctor would be able to see the best doctor around. I believe that intelligent, ambitious, caring, and yes profit driven individuals can provide such care if the government will reduce taxes and regulations, get out of the way, and let us invest more of our own money into providing a far better and more financially responsible solution. Finally, a couple questions for you to consider; Why is the government so ambitious to run health care? Are they such benevolent people that all they think about is helping others? or Could it be that they desire as many people as possible dependent upon them because then they have power and control?

Hello fellow Patriots aka, (Domestic Terrorists) according to the head of Homeland Security. Tuesday’s vote was a great day for America despite what Nancy Pelosi’s lying stretched face might say. It proved that there is a movement underway and it was because of you and all the rally’s, letters , parades, E-mails and phone calls etc. That you did when there were many other things you would have rather been doing but knew in your heart that this was the more important task. It also proved that the election of Obama was an anomaly. We have them on the run and they are quaking in there boots. Again it’s time to do all those things. The legislature will be voting on the Health Care Reform Bill probably this week and it has even more damaging, corrupt and draconian attachments to it then before.

I personally spent the day in Washington DC on the 9-1-2 protest. As you well know there were thousands of people. Walking around with my sign was great. as I was surrounded by people that thought just like I did. I didn’t see a person there in the crowd that in the least bothered me. It was very cool everybody reading each others signs and laughing at the great ones and giving the thumbs up to each other or taking pictures. It was a party. After the rally I retreated to where I had parked my rental. Got rid of the signs and took in the sites of the great National Mall. I had never been there and was excited to finally get the opportunity. The Capital, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, World War II, Vietnam Memorial, Korean War Memorial. There were other memorials that I wanted to see but the main ones mentioned were within walking distance. I must say my dogs were tired the next day because it is a lot of walking. I recomend if your older use a Rascal. But there are plenty of nice places to sit and relax.

Today I called Tim Walz. His Ph# is (202)225-2472. I wanted to remind him who he was working for and that he needed to listen again to Minnesotans. That the vote that occurred in November 2008 was not a referendum to destroy or what they like to say Reform the greatest Health Care system in the world. Also it was not a referendum to Fundamentally Transform America. They mislead the people and the people made a mistake thinking that this man was going to unite Americans. But as you can see he is trying to dismantle this system unconstitutionally by appointing Czars that will put in force any law they see fit, with no vetting process. Declaring war on the Free Market System, and Private Ownership which is what made this country great by confiscation and class warfare.

My phone call was as follows: Comrad Walz, before you vote for this Health Care Disaster that you and your girlfriend Pelosi are going to force on the rest of us Americans. Remember to slice off a piece of Pork for us Southeastern Minnesotans. Also keep in mind that this is to give notice that this will be your last year in office while you vote for this Confiscation of Liberty Monstrosity. Which you don’t seem to want to include yourself in the plan because it is such a great deal. We have been keeping track of your Abbismal voting record, time and again for the destruction of America and the usurping of the constitution. What happened in New Jersey and Virginia isonly the beginning of the awakening of Americans that are taking action and sending a message by flushing the excrement that fouls this great nation. Southeast Minnesotans will remember your effort to Socialize this country and turn it into a Banana Republic.

Keep the fire burning and God Bless.

A point about the health care bill; With or without the “public option” this bill is a disaster. The bill still includes community rating and price controls. This will bankrupt insurance companies and eventually lead to the “public option.” Congress knows this and that is why they will be ok passing it without a public option for now. This bill needs to be struck down completely.

First of all, it’s called Health Care, not Obamacare.

Second; I’ll be sure to call everyone of them and tell them to vote YES.

Why? Because it’s the right thing to do. People are hurting and dying because of a lack of availability to health care. I believe that God has seen this and does not want that to happen to the children of His Sovereign Nation.
I truly believe God had His Hand in this. I do.
If the Tea Party could just step pback from their partasian ways, they’d see that. But instead, they have choosen to be filled with hate for anything and everything the President Obama does….no matter what it is.

I truly believe that if Obama joined me in Church on Sunday, went to the pulpit, dropped to his kneess and gave himself to Christ, and renounced the Democratic Party forever……the Tea Party would STILL find something wrong with it.

      Please Tea Party….wake up.
